Dynamic Product Recommendations is an OptiMonk feature that displays personalized product suggestions inside popups based on each visitor's behavior on your store. OptiMonk offers five recommendation modes (recently viewed, most popular, Shopify recommender, products in cart, and manual) giving you the flexibility to serve the most relevant products at any stage of the buyer journey. The feature is available for Shopify and Shoprenter stores, and only recommends products that are currently in stock. If there are not enough eligible products to fill the recommendation for a particular visitor, the popup will not display at all, preventing irrelevant or empty-looking campaigns.

How it works
Create or edit a campaign in the OptiMonk editor and add a Product Element. Templates under the "Increase sales" goal include pre-built layouts with the Product Element already in place.
Click the Product Element and use the Mode drop-down to select recently viewed, most popular, Shopify recommender, products in cart, or manual. Set the number of products to display between 1 and 5.
Save the campaign and configure your targeting rules as normal. When the popup fires, OptiMonk reads the visitor's session data and fills the Product Element with the appropriate recommendations automatically — no manual updates needed as your product catalog changes.

The feature is currently available for Shopify and Shoprenter stores. For Shopify, all five recommendation modes are supported. For Shoprenter, recently viewed, most popular, and manual modes are available.
What happens if there are not enough products to recommend?+
If OptiMonk cannot find enough eligible in-stock products to fill the recommendation, the popup will not display at all. This prevents visitors from seeing empty or partially filled product recommendation slots.
How many products can I show in a single recommendation popup?+
You can display between 1 and 5 products in a single Product Element. This setting is available for all recommendation modes.
